Charné Griesel is a South African Judo champion making waves in the judo world! At the 2022 Commonwealth Games, she secured a well-deserved bronze medal in the Women’s 52 kg category, but her achievements don’t stop there. Back in 2019, Charné won gold at the African Cup U21 in Tunis and repeated her success at the African Open in Yaounde in 2022. Her dedication and passion for judo shine through.
Charné’s journey to success hasn’t been without challenges. As a child, she faced hyperactivity, but her parents opted for a healthier approach, encouraging her to channel her energy through sports. Now, she’s on the path to represent South Africa at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Nikola Filipov, Tuks’ head coach, believes she has what it takes to go all the way.
Beyond her personal success, Charné is actively involved in a project that aims to make a difference in the lives of kids in Eersterust, a community battling drug-related challenges. She believes judo can bring about positive change and impact young lives. At the Eersterust Judo Club, she instills moral values while coaching youngsters, transforming their lives and building their confidence.
Let’s rally behind Charné Griesel as she represents South Africa on the international stage and pursues her Olympic dream! Moreover, let’s applaud her dedication to supporting the Eersterust community through judo, making a difference in young lives. #SouthAfricanJudo #CharneGriesel #JudoStar #OlympicDreams #MakingADifference #JudoForChange
